Constructed in 1861, the Circleville City Hall is highlighted by its wooden cupola that features Italianate architecture that was common for its time in the United States. Durable was contracted to stabilize the cupola and reinstall the historic bell that was previously removed about 40 years ago due to the condition of the cupola. The scope of work expanded greatly when Durable discovered extensive rot throughout the cupola, and it turned into an entire dismantle-and-rebuild project. The cupola features numerous pieces of radius trim that had to be replicated to rebuild the cupola the same as it was originally built. Durable also reframed most of the gable roof that the cupola rests on so that it would be strong enough to support the weight of the 2000-pound bell.
