In April 2024, The Durable Slate Company, in partnership with The Christman Company, commenced the exterior restoration of Davidge Hall, a historic landmark in Baltimore, Maryland. Davidge Hall has a storied legacy as the cornerstone of medical education in the United States, serving as the College of Medicine of Maryland since 1807 and rechartering as the University of Maryland in 1812. Designed by renowned architect Robert Cary Long Sr., the building features an iconic dome with a Delorme structure, reflecting architectural influences from antiquity and reminiscent of the Pantheon in Rome.

Named after Dr. John Beale Davidge, the founder and first dean of the College of Medicine of Maryland, the hall stands as a tribute to the pioneers of medical education in the United States. Its inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places and designation as a National Historic Landmark underscores its cultural and historical importance.
The restoration efforts aimed to revive Davidge Hall to its former glory. The meticulous restoration of the roof and dome back to their original copper ensures the preservation of its architectural integrity for generations to come.
