For our work on Zion Lutheran Church, built in 1848 in Akron, Ohio, we completed a complete façade restoration on the exterior including masonry, wood details and slate steeple restoration. Masonry-wise, the building was spot pointed, stone details repaired and re-pointed, and brick patched. Even though the structure had many different iterations of masonry repairs, the original historic mortar was determined, tested, and developed. This mortar matched the original in color, texture, and composition, and was used for repairs. Masonry means and methods were consistently documented and verified.
